Alejandra holds a BSc in Environmental Engineering and a PhD in Physical Geography. Her doctoral research, titled "Impacts of Coastal Eutrophication on Benthic Ecosystem Functions," focused on estuarine environments affected by macroalgae blooms in the UK and the Baltic Sea investigating the potential of organic carbon storage in sediment from these systems.
